Cancún trip plan
Caribbean beaches and resorts, with Mayan ruins and cenotes within day-trip range.
Day by day
- Day 1
Arrive and get your bearings
Check in near Hotel Zone, buy a local SIM or eSIM, and take an easy walk around your neighbourhood to learn the area.
- Day 2
Beach day
Head to the nearest beach early to claim a spot, bring water and sun protection, and swim only where lifeguards are posted. Check beach flags before swimming; Caribbean-facing beaches have strong currents.
- Day 3
Evening out
Rest in the afternoon, then explore bars and live music in Playa del Carmen. Use licensed taxis or ride apps back late at night.
- Day 4
Markets and local food
Visit a morning market, then book a food tour or cooking class to learn what Cancún is known for. Eat where locals queue.
- Day 5
Last morning and departure
Pick up souvenirs, leave buffer time for transport to the airport or station, and keep your documents handy.
